Policies

Check-In:

Check-in begins at 3:00 PM. If you arrive early, you are welcome to park your car and wander around Cooperstown. If you will be arriving after 10:00 PM or in the early, early morning hours, please let us know so we can worry about you.


When you arrive, please use the free, off-street, parking area behind the building and enter through the front door that faces Chestnut Street. You may park in the driveway to unload your bags, but please don’t leave your car parked there in the event other guests are coming or going.


In the event that a staff member is not available, please use Ring Doorbell beside check in desk. As part of your check-in, we will ask that you fill out a Breakfast Menu.

Check-Out:

Check-out is at 11:00 am.

Cancellation Policy:

1. If you need to cancel or reduce the duration of your reservation, please do so 15 days prior to check-in. Deposits are returned less a $25.00 service fee.


2. If you book through our website, we provide a ‘Travel Protection Option. The Travel Protection Option will provide a 100% refund in the event the guest cannot make their reservation due to a wide variety of unforeseen illnesses or health conditions. The guest may apply for a 100% room reimbursement any time up to 14 days before the departure date or up to 30 days after. The 100% refund (minus the Travel Protection fee) will be returned to the guest’s credit card.


3. If you did not purchase the Travel Protection Option, and you cancel or reduce your stay less than 15 days prior to your reservation, you will be responsible for the cost of the reservation minus any nights that we are able to refill during your confirmed reservation.


Note: Travel Protection Option is not available if you use an Online Travel Agent (such as Booking.com) You still have free cancellation prior to 15 Day no-cancellation policy, see item 1.

Payment:

We require a 50% deposit that will be automatically be deducted upon booking. The balance is due upon departure. There is an 8% New York State Sales Tax and a 6% Otsego County Bed Tax which is in addition to our room rates. Payments can be made with Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express credit cards. Upon departure, cash, travelers’ checks or personal/corporate checks can be accepted as well.

Children:

We can only accept children above the age of ten.

Additional Information:

The Cooperstown Bed and Breakfast is open from May 1st to October 15th. We require a two-night minimum stay on all nights. We can make exceptions, so be sure to check with us if you can only stay one night.

Elevators and Stairs:

We are in a 1902-three-story house. We have no elevators. We do not have any bellhops or porters. We will try to assist you with your luggage, however my wife Kris is tiny and I am a disabled veteran. So please pack accordingly. If you have difficulties with stairs, please stay at one of the chain hotels on the highway or at the Otesaga. 

Smoking:

Smoking is not permitted inside the inn. Guests may only smoke on the porches or outside areas.

Parking:

Cooperstown Bed and Breakfast has five rooms with one free parking space for each room. Unfortunately we do not have any additional parking spaces.

Breakfast:

A full, hot breakfast is served to our guests each morning between 8 and 10 AM in our dining room. 

We provide a menu upon your arrival and after breakfast for the following morning(s).

Quiet Time:

In order to keep the peace with the neighborhood and be respectful of other guests, we ask that any porch or yard gatherings be turned down to a quiet conversational level after 10:30 pm. You’re welcome to hang out in the front parlor any time you like as well.

Animals:

Cooperstown B and B does not permit pets.

COVID 19 Policies:


The health of our guests and our staff are very important. In order to maximize everyone’s chances at staying healthy we will be following NY State and Village of Cooperstown policies enforcing mask-wearing and social distancing in the common areas of our property. Additionally, we will be providing hand sanitizer, and dutifully wiping down all common area surfaces with CDC-approved disinfectants.
